Hey! So....It's November!!
I hate that this year has flown by like this. I mean, what is this, a sprint?!
Anyway, do you ever feel like sometimes you need a do over? I do. I need to get my life together, like, yesterday! I know it's not healthy to dwell on the past and all, but there's nothing wrong with assessing where you've been and using the past as a catalyst to move you forward. But sometimes you need a break from all the noise - whatever distracting, debilitating sound that keeps getting in your head that causes you to feel less than satisfied with where you are in your life. Sometimes that noise is comparison, sometimes it's perfectionism, and sometimes its another person telling you that you're living your dream below par.
This week, and honestly the majority of October, I had a realization. I decided to stop...everything. I stopped watching periscope, listening to the oh so many podcasts that I'd come across, reading every "How-to [insert whatever dream you're aspiring to]" article ever posted and took a minute to listen to myself for once in a very long time. All the tools out there are so beneficial, but all the voices and information I've absorbed kind of stifled me. I needed to get back to my why - my life's true vision and mission, without the help of other people.
I encourage you to do the same. We all need a break sometimes. Away from the noise, goal-setting, to-do lists, planners and schedules. We need that break to do...ANYTHING else but the things that's gotten us overthinking - or to do nothing. You know, there's freedom in doing nothing. It feels kind of good. I say take a week, or a few days if you can't help it. Live in the moment. It helps you to reset, re-focus, re-group, and recharge. When you rewind, or better yet, PAUSE, it allows you to re-direct your path for the better.
Imagine what you can do with a new outlook and a refreshed mindset! Anything...Right?! Give yourself a *short* break, you deserve it. And probably need it.
On another note | November Writing Challenge
BTW...this month I decided to participate in my first writing challenge, created by @ggreneewrites called #30Days30Layers! Everyday, I'll be writing openly and honestly surrounding the prompts given, and sharing them on Instagram and twitter. To me, it's my way of exploring my creativity, giving myself a chance to be free, consistent, and transparent without the fear of outside judgement. I'd be awesome if you joined in on the challenge as well. But if you can't, feel free to check in on how I'm doing. I'd love the accountability and I want you to get to know the real me, as scary as that sounds.
