The thing about clarity is...
It's the portal to your destiny. Yea, I know, it's a little dramatic but go with me for a minute. There's so much you want to do, and then there are so many things you HAVE to do, and sometimes, they don't always fit together, or blend, or even overlap. And more often than not, the things you want to do get pushed back for the things you have to do, and it all becomes a little draining after a while.
BUT with a little clarity...you can figure out what you need to do, to live the life you've always wanted on TOP of your current obligations. Clarity gives you a sense of peace and direction. Crystal clear vision and understanding of where you want to go in life and what YOU want to accomplish.
I have so many ideas bouncing around in my head. I get inspired from other people. I listen to stories, I take courses, I read articles and gather all of this information that is supposed to help me grow, but it gets so much to the point where I almost forget what my end game is. I'm so busy being a student of my passion, I forget to be an author of my life sometimes. And you may feel the same way.
So how do you and I refocus and establish clarity in our lives? Let's start with simple steps.
Clean up
I don't know about you, but I can't work in mess or chaos. It causes me to be unfocused and scattered. I need a clear physical space in order to work on clearing my mental space to really think things through. It's hard to make a clear path towards anything when there's built up clutter around you. You have to make space. Clear the Clutter, not only for your environment but also for your mind. Every piece of clutter is a road block, including negative thoughts like doubt, fear, and procrastination.
Figure out your W's
Ask yourself these questions before you start working aimlessly.
Your Who - Who are you doing this for? Be 100% honest with yourself. You don't have to admit anything to anyone but yourself. If you really sit down and think about your end goal, who's the overall benefactor? Is it you or someone else? Knowing WHO you are so working hard for adjusts your FOCUS, so you can cut out things that don't help your target.
Your What - What EXACTLY do you want to accomplish? If it all boils down to it, what's your End Game? Saying things like "I just want to help" is too vague to incite real action and vague goals lead to vague results. Be specific.
Your Why - Everything has a reason. Figuring out those reasons, again, shapes your focus. It'll let you know if your reasons are sound, or selfish.
Zero In
Find a nice, quiet work space -whether it's in your home or the library or coffee shop (if you don't have time for cleaning at the moment) - and shut off distractions. Free your mind from outside voices *cough social media* for a few minutes and reflect on your goals and how to bring them closer to where you are.
So take some time this week to Zero in on your goals for the remainder of the year. Ask yourself below surface level questions and be honest with yourself.
The year is almost over. [Wow...the year is 3/4 done! **Happened so fast**] Don't put off your vision until the new year. Start now!
